So many people enter the Internet marketing field only to throw the towel in several months later.
They call Internet marketing a “scam” or a “pyramid scheme.”
While there are some programs out there that are definitely on the suspicious end, Internet marketing is based on sound marketing principles combined with new technology.
The reason they’ve failed is their own lack of education, drive or organization. If you want to avoid going down the path of the bitter Internet marketing failure, watch out for these seven common mistakes.
1.Not getting started to begin with.
Internet marketing can be exciting. There is so much to learn and so much money that can be made that it is easy to spend all of your time dreaming about your future income. The only problem with this is that you’ll end up doing nothing but dreaming. You have to take action if you want to succeed.
2.Not spending time finding the right plan.
There are dozens of ways to make money online. There are hundreds of variations of those basic ways to make money. Some work for some people and some work for others. Expecting each plan to work for everyone is ridiculous, so you have to decide what will work best for your strengths, your budget and your time commitment.
3.Not staying focused on your plan.
Once your plan is in place, you have to stick with it. You have to laser target your focus so that you can be sure you aren’t getting distracted by other plans and mentors. Confusion causes inaction, so you want to keep things crystal clear for yourself.
4.Not doing proper niche research.
Even though it might seem like drudgery, the niche research part of your process will be essential in your level of success with Internet marketing. There’s just no way around it. You have to spend time researching your niche, making sure you know what the niche needs and developing a product to meet those needs (if product creation is your Internet marketing plan). The more time you do research, the more likely that you will succeed in the long run.
5.Not developing your own product.
Speaking of creating a product, you need to have the idea of developing your own product somewhere on the horizon. Owning your own product will open up doors for you that being an affiliate just can’t.
6.Avoiding spending money.
There are plenty of free tools and techniques to use to make money online, but at some point you’ll need to buy some software, invest in a course or expand to use outsourced labor. Don’t put this off just because you’re dedicated to doing it cheaply.
7.Not putting time in each day.
Small steps each day is what is going to lead to Internet marketing success. No Internet marketers ever got successful by putting things off until tomorrow. Even if you just have time to write one article, start one PPC campaign or make one connection each day, it’s worth it to do so.
Sincerely,
